DOLOKES CONCERTS.
The box plans for the series of song recitals to l>e given by Mademoiselle Antonia Dolores, the celebrated French soprn.no, will open to-morrow morning-. ■There is, critics agree; probably no artist in the "world who makes such an universal appeal as does Antonia Dolores, ■hence it is not surprising to find that her concerts here are creating unusual interest in musical circles. The announcement of n Dolores concert is always an 'especial event to musical aspirants. A Dolores concert, apart from being an artistic treat, is always a musical education. She first introduced these song recitals to Australasia. Since she opened her present tour in Fydney Tow;i. Hall last May she has travelled some thousands of miles, and her tour has been one uninterrupted success. According to the Brisbane "Daily Mail," "Dolores is one of those privileged beings Who, by the charm of u delightful voice ■ and exquisite artistry, can make even the most unmusical listeners experience -sheer enchantment and happiness." Among the items to bo given at Dolores's first conoert here are "Come Unto These Yellow Sands" (Purcell), "It AVas a Lover and . His Lass" (Morley), "Shepherd Thy Demeanour Vary" (Brown), recit "An! Perfido" and aria "Per I'ieta" (Beethoven), "Dans les bois" (Webber), "Sainte" (Ravel), "Romance" and "Mandoline" (Debussy), α-ecit "Piangi" and aria "Uu bel di vedremo" (Puccini's "Madam Butterfly"), "0 Fair and Sweet and Holy" (Rubenstein), "Gentle Zephyr" (Bennett), and "Swiss Echo Song" (Eckert). The pianist is Mr. Harold Smith, who is also heard in the solos, Polonaise in A flat, and an Irish reel. There will be an entire change of programme for each concert. Concessions are also announced for students and schools, particulars ofwhich: are obtainable at the box office on application.
THE KING'S THEATRE. • An exceptional triple attraction 'programme is being shown at the Kingfs, and drew a crowded house > again last evening. In addition to the principal feature, "The Reason Why," in which Clara Kimball Young does splendid acting, there is a very attractive interlude, consisting of songs by the Cadzow Musical Trio. ■ • ,
EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. The screen version of Winston Churchill's famous novel, "The Crisis," is the attraction this week at Everybody's. The lovo.story of the two leading diameters is the niain interest of the film. The second attraction, is "The Champion," featuring Charlie Chaplin.
EMPRESS THEATRE. . Hoy Stewart has the leading part in tjie powerful Triangle 'drama,, "The Devil Dodger/' which is now being shown at the Empress Theatre. "Patty's Seaside Lovers," which shows Fatty Aγbuckle at his best, the latest Gazette, and views of the Rarotongans at Day's Bay complete, a .very fiue programme.
