MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
THE LABOUR TICKET. Labour intends to endeavour to gel what it terms fair representation on the City Council at the April elections, and is busy now arranging its "full ticket." There are sixteen 6e.ats on the council, and the Labour Representative Committee has received seventeen nominations, so that the ballot to be token will, presumably, only affect one of those nominated. The seventeen names to go to the ballot on March 1 are—Mesdames S. Beck, Snow, J. Aitken, Messrs. A. Black, E. Swindell, J. Hutchison, P. Fraser, T. Brindle, R, H. Stickney, W. T. Young, J. Read, J. Glover, P. E. Evans, C. H. Chapman, A. W. Croskcry, A. L, Mon-' teith. and R. M'Keene.
The main roll closed on Saturday, when there was a big rush of applications for enrolment. It is not yet known how many names, are on the main roll, as the work of entering the names received during the past few days will probably take 6ome days.
There will, as usual be a supplementary roll, which will close down twentyeight days before the election (which takes place on the last Wednesday in April).
