Laurerison urged the establishment of iron works and tho fostering of tho existing industry. He urged {he claims of Parapara whore there were excellent facilities for carrying on the industry. In the pig irbn industry- 70 pei- cent, of the cost of production could De set down for labour. The chairman said Mr. Laurenson's evidence regarding the cojt conflicetd with that given in' Wellington, and a thorough investigation would liavo to be made into the figures.
