THE MILITARY CONVENTION PROLONGATION SUGGESTED By. Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright New York, February 10. v The Peking correspondent of the "New York Times" reports that Mr. Saito, the. Japanese Military Attache in Peking, has been recalled, but is remaining privately, and is endeavouring to induce the Chinese Government., to prolong the Chino-Japaneso Military Convention. The terms of the Convention provide that' it shall be inoperative on the cessation of the war. Mr. Saito contends that the war will not end- till the peace j treaty is. signed.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
