Mr. P. V. Frazer, S.M., presided over yesterday's sitting of Hie Magistrate's Court. • POLICE CASES. Elinar Hansen admitted that, lie 'had •Warded, the .ship. Georgette without tlio permission of the military authorities, oiid was convicted and ordered to coiuo lip for sentence when called upon. Tlie police stated that the defendant was recently discharged from the. ship Vrainocean, and was endeavouring to seek employment on another vessel. Defendant had in money and had gone aboard Hie Georgette to sleep for the night. Hansen stated that lie had been promised ii position otv the ship llciiriette, and His AVoiv ship: released him on the understanding that he made arrangements to join a ship at ,on,ce. For using insulting language 011 i.uuibton Quay, John Scanlon was fined .£!), and 011 n charge of obstructing Constable F! j;' Williams whilst in the execution of bis duty ho was lined .62. t James White was fined ,£3 for committing a uuisapce 011 a'tramear in Cuba Street, Leonard Hills was fined .6!) for using obscene language. ' MAINTENANCE CASES.'-;' - Florence' Palmer, whose nrrenrs in respect of a maintenance order amounted to £\i l"s.. Gd., applied for the cancellation of. the original order .of 25.. 6<J.. pmweek; 'She was ordered to pay the sum of 2s. Gd. a week off the arrears, the original ord«r to remain suspended till the arrears are paid.off. Henry Hwrbert Andrews, whose arrears in respect of a maintenance order amounted to £5 16?., -was-sentenced to one month's imprisonment, the warrant to be suspended as long as 15s. a week is paid. Joseph Frederick William Stanley wns ordered to pay 10s. pel' week for ten weeks in support of his wife, and thereafter 255. a week. ~£l Is. costs were allowed complainant. «—«
