A REST ROOM FOR MOTHERS
t MOTHER'S HELP SOCIETY. .: 6 Sir—May I, through /(-our, pages, con. e gratulate tho women of the' Wellington i National Heserve on tho formation of tha ' Mothers' Help Society? A great deal of . fine motherhood sentiments is indulged ' in, but practical help for the mothers is I not always forthcoming. A rest room for i mothers is urgently needed in the centre , of your city, and should have gas-rmga L mid hot water available for warming - 'babies' bottles. Most mothers would 1 gladly pay for the use of such a place J and assist in keeping the doors open for t others. ~,..,. . The Plunkot nurses do what they can, ' but since their good work is hampered by lack of suitable accommodation and their i. attention is primarily required for the „ ailing little ones, a separate room for well babies is much needed, as every „ tired country mother knows. I am.glad . that a playground has been offered for » tho -use of the little ones,, a grass lawn, , some shady trees, a few beds of scarlet geran niums or other bright flowers. Children know the right sort' of playground, and .„ child-lovers' should see-to it that they j are not denied tho right of healthy play,f "rounds, even if some square feet of p valuable property has to go to niako room a for them. „ , , , I hope tho thoughtfnlness and good sense of these women will meet with th« appreciation, they deserve, and that the. Mothers' Help Society will soon be firm ' 'y established in Wellington and initiated linotheVtowns.-I^et,,^^ •February 7, 1919.
