MAGISTRATE'S COURT
FIVE CHARGES OF THEFT. Five charges of 'theft were preferred 'ngainst a young man named Eric Leo Nystrorn, before Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court on Saturday. The details were that on December G last the accused stole a pair of tan boots, valued at 155., the property of Claude Harold Moimtfoa-t; that on December 8 he committed the I heft of a pair of black boots, of the same value, also 'belonging to Mr. Mountfort; that on January 10 he stolo a pair of boots, valued at 325. 6d., from Benjamin Lucas; that on January 17 ho stole a Colts' revolver, valued at ,£5, the property of Cyril Bartlett; and that' on February 1 he stole a fancy da'ess costume, valued at £2, the property of Madame Laurie Foley. . When the first charge was read over accused said ho was under the influence of liquor at the time he took the boots; Acting Sjub-Inspector Emerson asked for a remand "until February 11. He said he understood that the prisoner intended to plead guilty, but beforo the. cases were gone on with the police-desired to mako some' inquiries into other matters. The remand was granted. Felix Grant admitted having been drunk' on Friday,' and that there were two previous convictions against him. "Will you lot me go into the country?" asked Grant of the Magistrate. "You must get the liquor out of you first," replied Mr. Frazef. "You/ are 6entonced to seven days' imprisonment to get the liquor out of you., and are prohibited." '■
