CONVERSATIONS WITH RUSSIAN SOVIET GOVERNMENT
ENTENTE'S OFFER ACCEPTED. (Rec. February 9, 5.5 p.m.) London, February 7. The Russian Soviet Government has accepted the, Entente's offer to begin conversations _ with a. view to the cessation of hostilities. It also agrees to -pay Russia's debts—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. DATE OF MEETING POSTPONED. (Rec. February 9, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, February 6. In view of the lateness of the receipt of 'the Bolsheviki's willingness to go to Hie Marmora Conference, tho date of the meeting has been fixed for later on. -So far the Bolsheviki have given no guarantee that they will cease hostilities—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn. ... Paris, February 7. Latest advices from Russia show that there is much, suffering through shortage of food supplies. The Conference has net yet decided what can be done regarding Russia if the Marmora Conference fails'. Certainly there would be no military intervention unless the Bolsheviki attacked Poland.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. INTEREST ON DEBTS GUARANTEED. London, February C. The Soviet Government guarantees the interest on Russia's debts, giving 'raw materials in payment. The Soviet is willing to place concessions. in Russian mines and forests beforo tho citizens of the Entente—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. SERBIAN, CROAMUND SLOVENIAN UNION Paris, February 7. Mr. Robert Lansing (Secretary of State for the United States) made a statement that the United States will welcome the union _ of tha Serbian, Croatian, and Slovenian peoples.—Aiis.-N.Z. Cable Assn. PROPOSED INTERNATIONAL LABOUR CONFERENCE, THE QUESTION OF REPRESENTATION. (Rec. February 9, 5.5 p.m.) Paris, February 8. Conferences of the Labour Commission have further considered the proposed Permanent International Conference, and what representation should be given to. the Governments as well as to and workers.
