Reports state that the Grand Dukes Paul, Nicholas, and George were shot on January 27- in the courtyard of Deninbimy. prison by order of a 6peoial commission/with 1-11 men end 28 women who were accused of. participating in alleged Anglo-French intrigues. Nicholas was arrested in December and confined in a small cell with fourteen others. Owing to starvation and ill-treatment, Nicholas was too weak to walk and was carried to execution on a wheelbarrow, in which he wns shot by saijors and Chinese, who provided the firing party.—Aus.-N.Z.
