RISE IN INTER-COLONIAL FREIGHT RATES
Sy Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, February 8. On account of the quarantine restriction, freight charges on general cargo and'timber in the Commonwealth have been increased by 7s. Cd. per ton from'today. A corresponding increase on coal, coke, and ore is about to be applied. It is understood that passage charges, for similar reasons, are going raised by £3 10s. a head.
