; ELDERSLIE STUD SALE LARGE ATTENDANCE OP BUYERS. By Telegraph—Press Association Oamaru, February 7. 'An important disposal sale of the Eltletslie stud, the property .-f Mr. J. ,B. Beid, attracted a large attendance of racing enthusiasts : and breeders from all parte of New Zealand and from Australia. The catalogue consisted ■of ninetynine lots, comprised of yearlings, mares and foals, dry mares, and stallions, and very few lots remained unsold. ,; he sale realised 22,570 guineas (.£23,698 Ms.). Seventeen yearlings brought 1965 guineas, twenty-six mares 8235 guineas, fifteen ■ foals sold for 2315 guineas, and ten dry • maTe§ realised 2655 guineas. The top price for a yearling was 10C0 guineas, for 1 a ''Kilbroney—Flowery Speech bay colt, purchased by' Messrs. H. übisliDlm and Co., Sydney,' for Sir Samuel Hordern. , The average, price was 292 guineas. The imported 6tallion Kilbroney (The Wag—lnnismakil), sire of Kilboy, Kilboyne, Kilrush, Kilmoon, Kiljoy, Rose Pink, and other well-known "Kil" family, was purchased by Mr. Lan Duncan, of Wellington, for 4000 guineas. Markhope (imp.) (Marcovil—Nadjeda), bred by H.M. the King, was sold to Sir Rupert Clark, of Sydnej;, for 400 guineas.
