Desert Gold appeared to be on the jollyside, but Gloaming stripped well, as did ' the other pair, particularly Silver Link, whose coat ehone like satin. . AVhen they went; out for tlu> preliminaries Gloaming was on his toes, ami would not jump oft for some time. ]H-sert Gold went down freely, and Gray% mount was again Joudiy cheered. Birkcnvale led tho favourite lo the bend, where Movement rushed up on the outside, and won easily from 80-Peep, who was a length in front of Birkcnvale. Madam P.istori was fourth. Restful and Fulica divided the machine honours in the Urenui Electric Hack Handicap. The public were well on the mark, for the pair filled the places, with Some Boy third. Restful was a trifle unlucky -in tho running, or she might, havo won. . The .lotalisntor handled ,£32,900- for the dav, as against .£25,171 for the same day iast war.
