Numerically the entries received for the Dnnne.virke A. and V. Assoc.-tion's Show next week are very satisfactory, and ensure the success of. this .vea:'s. venture. The influenza epidemic materially upset the plans of many who usually exhibit, tore, «'hib the late sucaring also upset calculations, but, despite these, the entries in the sheep section are very gratifying, while those in cattle, dogs, and tho"other divisions are strong in number, and will introduce, to the Danuevirko Show rings several new competitors. It is expected that there will be a fine display of cattle, as many prominent; breeders will be represented, while the competition in the dog classes is expected to easily eclin-'e nnyhing in this connection at pasl shows. The competitions, too, have attracted large, entries. The opening day is on Wednesday, February 12, and People's' Day is on Thursday, February 13, while the ram fair will take place on the show grounds on Friday, February 14. Produce to the value of ,£140,550 was exported from Wnnganui for the weekended .lamiarv IS. For the quarter ended December 31 tho exports wore valued at J1353.177, as against .i'OT.OOiMor Hie corresponding period of 11)17. For the December quarlcr, 1918, tho value of exports through the port of Pate-a was ,K30,745. This showed a great reduction as compared with the corresponding period of 1917, when the value of the produce exported was ,£222,059.
