NAVY LEAGUE

A meeting of the executive committee of the Wellington branch of the Navy Leagiio was hold at the league's offico on Tuesday afternoon. There were present: Messrs.' A, Atkins (in the chair), A. !•;. Wiren, C. W. Chilman, C. R. Smith,, B. Keesing, Mrs. Bradney Williams, Mi's. C. B. Richardson, and Miss Laurcnsoii.. Apologies for abseuco were received Sfrom Mr.'C. W. Palmer and Mrs. ,T. R. Gibbons.

The lion." treasurer presented his report, and it'was decided' to hold the annual meeting of. members on Tuesday, 'March U. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. Darroch, Burt, Keosing, and Mrs. Hall-Thompson and Mrs. Bradley Williams, -was set up for the purpose of making the necessary arrangements in connection with' the meeting. The report of the Ladies' Auxiliary stated that operations' had been suspended during the Christmas holidays, but the -work of the auxiliary will be- resumed next montlu '

A statement of. accounts was presented in connection -with the lecture given by Mrs. Kineton Parkes for the benefit of the auxiliary funds.

It was reported that the .overseas and coastal shipping companies hod generously provided Hie necessary funds, for a recent entertainment given to the minesweepers and other naval ratings. A vote of thanks was passed to the com-, panies, and. also the others who gave their assistance.
