OUR INDUSTRIES
PARLIAMENTARY INQUIRY.
The Parliamentary Committee appointed to sit during the recess to inquire into matters concerning the industries of the Dominion will meet at 10 o'clock this morning in the Joint Committee-room, Old Parliamentary Buildings, and start its investigations. In addition to sitting in. Wellington, the committee will visit a number of different contres in the Dominion and will be open to take any evidence which may tend to show how the industries of the Dominion may best be improved. The committee, as orighally appointed, consista of the following members of Parliament: Messrs. C. A. Wilkinson (chairman), J. Craigie, G. W. Forbes, J. T. M. Hornsby, R. Hudson, J. P. Luke, G. V. Pearce, 11. Poland, T. K. Sidey, W. A. Veitch, Dr. A. K. Newman,- and the Right Hon. Mr. Massey. A preliminary sitting of some of the members of the committee was hold yesterday morning. The Wellington ittings will last for two or three days, and the proceedings will bo open to the Press. Next week the committee will go to the South Island.
