One of 2\ew Zealand's problems will bo to secure an ademiate return from highpriced dairy lands. The importance' of proper feeding nnd euro of slock becomes apparent if they aie to bo kept healthy and give the highest percentage of buttertat, ill any cows and calves ure not receiving the chemical suits which ensure health. Their pastures are deficient, nnd there are no natural "salt licks" in this country to restore the balance. The scientific equivalent is "Cow-lie," a combination of salt, phosphates of iron, nnd potash and lime. Tin; secretofils marvellous efficiency lies in the Imlnnee of ingredients. Dairy fanners speak in glowing terms of "Cowlic." Mr. A. G. Johnston, of "Brooklield," Wavoiiey, used to lose 8 or 10 calves by abortion in his herd eacli season; since providing "Cow-lie" for his stock hu has lost none. His total cost for "Cow-lie" in three seasons was ,£3. The nmnufacturcrs (Domestic and Chemical Supplies, Ltd., Auckland)-will be glad to send full infovmatjon and many testimonials to dairy fanners or storekeepers. Prices are advertised in this issue, and _il. certainly stems a case where a dairyman can spend .il to the advantage of hip i stock and-his ourse,—Advt.
