District Nursing Guild,

The monthly meeting of the committee of the 'District Nursing Guild of St. John was held at the residence of Mrs. W. H. S. Moorhouse on Monday afternoon. Thore were pres.ent: Mesdames Moorhouse (presiding), Halcombe Uiwn, Tripe, Conrigan, Misses llobieson, Macandrow, Edmcades (hon. secretary). An apology was received from Mrs. Pearson. The reports of the nurses showed that in December 10 patients were registered, 39 discharged, 18. remained, and 221 visits wero.paid. During January 12 patients were registered, 5 discharged, 1 died, 24 remained, aiid 242visits.we.ro paid. Gifts of clothing, etc., were acknowledged with thanks from Mesdames Moorhouse (2), Kane, Hunter, Myers, Lisnck (2), lied Cross Society, Briscoe. Donations: Terrace Congrqijational Y.W. Ladies' Committee of the-'Ketumed Soldiers' Club appeal for funds was held in the club, Lambtoß Quay, yesterday afternoon. Mrs. A. Gray was in the chair, and there were about' thirty, ladies.. present. Mre. Harper- (hon.. secretary) read the minutes of the last meeting, and apologised for the Mayoress "(Mrs: J. P. Luke), who ie absent in Christchurch. Mis.3 Stuart-Forbes to say that the' Hutfc Ladies' Patriotic Guild would meet in a fortnight and would then discuss what they would do. Mrs. Porter, on ',behalf' of tho Women's National Reserve, said that they would help. They would organise' a stall' for the street day' and ■would also communicate with their suburban branches. Mrs. Preston, on behalf of St.. John Ambulance, undertook to organise a produce stall, with the co-oppration of the helpers of the Woodward Street and Petohe shops, which are not now in operation. Mrs. BarUrop, representing the Citizens' Service League, said they would undertake, a stall.'.'

Plans are being made to hold an executive conference of the Y.W.&A., at Christehurch, oarly next month, says an exchange. This will be a. preliminary to the triennial convention for the Y.W.C.A.'b of Australasia, to be held in Auckland in October, when women dekgates from mil parts of Australaak are expected to bo prosent.
