A tropical downpour of.rain occurred in Masterton on Saturday night, the registration being 1.44' inched, which is a few points less than the registration for the whole of January. . . The Masterton Racing . Club has at present a credit balance of ,£746 14s. 9d. The annual report of the United Friendly Societies' Dispensary of Masterton shows a credit balance of .£356 13s. 2d. A dividend of 5 per cent, has been recommended. :
Some of the turnip crops; in the Masterton district have been completely ruined by the turnip fly.
A' Wellington business man who was on a visit to Masterton very generously contributed a sum of .£SO to provide a home for a family of fourteen that had been evicted. '
