AMERICA'S REDUCED RATES. New York, January 81. The "New York Times" correspondent at Washington state? that the United States Shipping Board has announced a ■wholesale reduction in ocean freight rates from the United States to Europe. It is thought that tyiis will enable American shippers with Britain and other foreign nations. . The. reductions include:—Naked steel, fifteen' dollars porton; • packed steel, : > eighteen dollars; rough measure cargo, twenty-five dollar;. fine, measure cargo, thirty dollars. The rates apply nor ton of 2240 pounds, or 40 cubic feet, at ship's option. Thereduction will be .made effective immediately—Aus.-N.Z. Cable ASSn. .' ■ •'';'■ '''.;'
