SETTLEMENT OF EX-SOLDIERS
SMALL HOLDINGS OF LAND TO BE PROVIDED. (Rec. January 30, 10.45 p.m.) London, January 2s. It is understood that the Government is preparing various plans for the. setdement of ex-soldiers on the land. The plaus will provide small holdings for carefully-selected men with some capital, the State making up the balance required. The Government hopes that • there wih be » demand for a small' piece of land with a free cottage. This demand could be the easiest satisfied and prove the least costly. The Government also hopes to settle men on intensively culti-vated-farms, under a manager, where oo- •; partnership profit-sharing could be in. troduced.-Aii.s.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
