Correspondence which had been seized showed :that transactions between the defendants had been going .on since March, 1916. The police on January 11 saw -M'Garth meet Burrow at Kugby station. ..The latter put two parcels aboard the , Liverpool train,. and handed ll'Garjth a note, which'bore.a Liverpool address, and in which was enclosed .£IOO. The police exnmined the parcels, which: contained twelve revolvers, twelve thousand rounds of ammunition, and 301b. of explosive amburite. It was stated that the police had searched "M'Garth, who was carrying two, revolvers and a Sinn .Fein membership' card. A'letter, was found in M'Grath's house from the Arkloiv County Irish Volunteers, asking how revolvers and ammunition could he got from Liverpool to Ireland..... . :-.,'■ The proprietor !,of the Midland Gun Company, in evidence, etated that Burrow had made, irregular entries, showing that fifty thousand cartridge cases had been consigned to "M'Grath and Company."
