Otago Summer Show opened today. -Heavy rain:fell until-10 a.m., but the remainder of tho day was lino though dull. The entries -were almost equal to last year's, buj; owing to the Hoods in the eouth a number were unable to reach : Dunedin. In consequence, the judging of sheep was postponed till tomorrow. The following championships were awarded:—Dairy cow, A. Elworthy(Timaru); Shorthorn bull and cow, John Nixon.(Killinchy); Channel Island bull, ciecutors lato F. Hellyer (North-East Ilarbour); co^,-Bernard Tripp (Tiriiiiru); Ayrshire bull and cow, A.-, Gillies (Hampden); Friesiaircow or.lieifer, A Elworthy (Timaru); fat bullock, 11. Trotter, Kurow); Clydesdale entire, T. and A. Carruthera (Ngnpuna); mare, Jas. Patrick (Outran)).
