Owing to the absence ot her father, Miss Kussell was given avny by her uncle, Jlr. H. B. Williams. Tho bride wore i\ weddiiiff gown of white cluu-meiise, heavily fringed. Die tram, n-hich fell from the shoulders, was of broendo velvet charmouse, and was lined willi primrose, jfeorgctte. The veil was held in pluce by ;i silver hand mlorncd with orungo , blossoin. Slie wove n dinmaud and pc'lii-1 pendniit, the gift of the bridegroom. 'Die bridesmaids were Miss Mnrgot ltusaell, sister of the bride, mid her two 'little .cousins, Meggie and PnIricia Willinnis, who ivpro frocks of pink georgette and filet luce and Leghorn lints, with niched pink and "blue ribbon. They also wore diamond and sapphiro brooches, the sift of the Tinde.irroom. Mr. Godfrey West was best nuvii. The reception was held at Frimlcy, the beautiful homo of Miss Elsie Williams, the bride's ; aunt. The guests were received by Lady Russell, who'wore a gown of navy blue eliarmeuse' (rimmed with fringe, and a black hat. She was assisted by Miss Elsie 'AYilhnms, whoso gown of navy taffetas wno also trimmed with fringe," niul who wore a pretty black hat. The bride's health was proposed by Mr. J. Studliolme. Mrs. Deans, mother of tho bridegroom, wore a gown of riiauve eliarmeuse, "with touches- -of gold, and a hat of the enmo tyiiq. The bride's travelling dress was of -primrose crepe de cliiuo, with brown and gold 'embroideries. With this ehe wore a, Leghorn hat lined with brown and trimmed with brown velvet and yellow berries. The ceremony was performed by the Venerable Archdeacon- Herbert Williams, of Gisborne, assisted by Canon Ciiln-eok, of Puketopii. Mr. and Mrs. Deans left by lnotoM-ar for tho Bay of Islands, where the honeymoon is .to be spent." CRAWFORD-TUMBULL. A very, interesting wedding took placo in the 'Basilica, Hill Street; yesterday afternoon between Miss Margaret Turnbull, daughter of Major and Mrs. W. If. Turnbull, and Mr. James Cou(,ts Crawford, son of Mm.' H. D. Crawford and the late Mr. H. D. Crawford. The officiating clergyman wns the Rev. Father Smyth. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. Walter Johnston, wore an exquisite gown of white geoi'gotto over pale pink silk, with silver panels. Thn court train was of white duchesse satin, 1 und the bridal veil of white and silver reached to (lie end'of the trnin; Vvith it was worn a wreath of orango blossoms. She also wore diamond ear-rings, the gift of the bridegroom, and carried a beautiful bouquet of pink and white flowers. The bridesmaids,. Misses Cecil Baldwin,- Agnes Duncan,. Marjory and Betty'Johnston, cousius of the bride, woro dainty gowns of pale ping georgette,' with garlands of flowers round the waist fastened with soft blue bows. They wore Leghorn hats (rimmed with syiiilar floivers, and the ribbon and' their bouquets were of pale pink and blue flowers. They also wore coral neck-chains the gift of the bridegroom. Captain Martin Tweed was best man, and tho groomsmen were Mr. Alan Biirnes nnil Mr. Eddie Baldwin. Mrs. .W. H. Turiibull's gown was of blacj; satin, with a white georgette- overdress, embroidered -with jet; with it she wore a black picture lint. Her bouquet was of violet and mauve blossoms. Mrs. 11. 1). Crawford's gown wns of tho softest art shade of grey georgette; she wore a picture hat of black panne, and carried a vivid bouquet of salmon pink flowers. The chancel was beautifully 'decorated with pink and blue liyderangeas and palms, and Mr. Bernard Page played some beautiful music before the ceremony, and tho "'Wedding March" at the conclusion. Mrs. Turnbull held a reception at her house in Timikori Boad, which 'about n hundred and twenty guests attended, amongst them being: Mrs. Johnston (Iligliden), Mr. and Mrs. Goring Johnston, Mr. and Mrs. Waller Johnston, Mr. iand Mrs. Tan Duncan',,Mr. and Mrs. W. Pearce, Colonel and Mrs. Moorhou.se, Captain and Mrs. HallThompson, Miss E. L. Johnston. Mr. and Mrs. C. Elgar, Mr. and Mrs. .Brandon, Miss S. 'Brandon, Sir Francis Bell, Mrs. C. Bidwill, Miss Hareourt, Mrs. Percy Baldwin, Mrs. Herbert Watson and Miss Wntson (l'almei-slon X.orlh). Mrs. V. Biddiford, Miss Thorne-George, Miss ■Clifford (Chrislchurch), Mr. and Mrs.. Arthur Duncan, Miss Helen Pearce, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hadficld, and Mr. and Mrs. Mmirico Tiirrell. '('he scheme of decoration in the house was pink, including a huge wedding boll of pink blossoms. Tho decorations of (he wedding onko were of the same delicate shade. At the church wedding favours, •consisting of flowers tied with white satin ribbon, were distributed to the guests. Crawford left later for the South Island.. They intend to spend their honeymoon at Mount Cook.
