The "Mercantile Gazette" reports regietraiion of two new coal companies, with mines at Shag Point, Otago. and Itoefton respectively. The Shaft Point Company hae a capital of £12,00U, and takes over a coing concern. The Rcefton property is known as tho Sherwood Coal Jlininu ■Company. It has a capital of £40,000, and acquires tho business of coal miners lately carried on by W. J. Moirie and T. Lcarmont.
