Hiss Millward is visiting Jfew Plymouth, and is the guest of Mrs. Stanley Shaw. Miss Eleanor. Kidston, 11.A., is the guest of Mrs. Robert Malcolm, Opawa, ClU'istchurch. Mrs. Harold Greenwood, of Amberley, Canterbury, who has been in Wellington for the races, has returned to the south. Mr. and Mrs.. A. Woodside, of San Francisco, are touring New Zealand, and are in Christchurch at present. Mrs. Hugh "Biisor, Canterbury, is visiting Wellington. Mrs. T). Reese, who has been touring the North Island, has returned to Christchurch. Mrs. Hliodes, of Seattle, U.S.A.. is to be the guest of the Pioneer Club on Friday afternoon! Members are invited to attend at a quarter to four. Mrs. Rhodes has taken a very active part in social, educational, and patriotic work in her city, and is very interested in all activities in which women in Now Zealand are engaged. Mrs. F. Seoular lias gone to Auckland to meet her husband, Captafii S; Seoular, N.Z.M.C, who arrived by the hospital ship Mar'ama on Monday. Mr. and .Mrs. Elliott, of Mnsterton, and their son and daughter . are going to Sydney, bythe Manuka. At present they are staying with. Miss M'Coll, Salamanca Road. Miss Stevens, who has done a great deal of work for the Returned Soldiers' Club, received a pleasant surprise yesterday in the shape of an autograph photograph from General P«u. Colonel and Mrs. Acland, who arrived at their homo last week, were heartily welcomed by the settlers at Peel Foreft. The latter turned out- in force, by way of demonstrating their pleasure at seeing Colonel A eland back from the war, and erected an arch of evergreens in his honour. Bunting was also liberally displayed. Mr. and Mrs. .T. M. H. Tripp motored them from the railway station to their' home. Mrs. Cameron (wife of Captain W. Cameron, of the ferry steamer Maori), and her little daughter, who have been living in Christchurch. for several months, have come to Wellington, where they intend to reside. ( Social life has not yet had time- to gather lip its threads, says the Paris correspondent of "The Queen." Bidwill is .in town for Miss Turnbull's wedding. Mr. and Mrs. J. Stiidholme bavo gone to Hastings for Miss Russell's wedding. •Miss Joan Hunter and Miss Helen Hunter, who have been staying with Mrs. Moorliouse for.raco week, have returned home. v " Mrs. Deans (Riccarton) is in Hastings for her son's marriage. . . ' Mrs. Maguire, wife of Dr. JHaguire, medical superintendent of Auckland Hospital, who wag recently appointed a member of the Auckland City Council, took her seat for the first time last week, and received a hearty welcome. Mrs. M. C. Keane.of Christrhurch, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned south. Sister-A'iirse livesey, sister of Miss Livesey and Dr. Livesey, of Feilding, will shortly arrive in Now Zealand She was one of the first New Zealand nurses to go over, and earned "a very hMi reputation, for. her .efficiency. At the end or October last, in common with most of .ho staff at Broekenhurst Hospital, she had a very bad attack of influenzw. and spent a month at tho beautiful convalescent home for nurses at Brighton.
