A Select Committee recommends the introduction of legislation defining the end of the war in various Acts as the data of the ratification of the peace treaty.— -Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assii. MRS. HOPE AND HER CHILDREN GUARDIANSHIP PETITIONED AGAINST. (ReC. January 28, 5.5 p.m.) London, January 25. The trustees of the late LieutenantColonel Hope, who is believed to have been killed in October, 1917, are petitioning the Edinburgh Court of Session io remove the widow from the guardianship of her two children. The petition alleges drunkenness and immoral conduct, and asserts that she was under the influence of drink during the election (iauipaign in East Fife, when opposing ilr. Aiquith,—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
