, iTr. ¥.. V. Frazor, S.M., presided qvoi , the Juvunile Court on Saturday morning, ■ and had before him .several youthful offenders. '~■,... ■'..' . A lad licensed, out fivm the NelsonBoys' Homo was'.charged with stealing a. pair of reins valued at 7s. lid.,, the. property of William John .Conipton. 'Mr. P. W.- Jackson appeared for'the accused. It was shown by the evidence that, tho ■lad'was in the jiabit of knocking about the stable's and doing odd jobs, receiving small sums of money for same. At various times he had : bridles_ and other stable gear lent to him, and.it was .contended on behalf of the lad that he borrowed the reine, and although lie said lie had returned, them they were not seen again by the owner/ The Magistrate ordered the parents of the lad to refund ,7s. 6d., the valuo of the roins. , • ' : A lad, 11 years of age, charged '.with damaging; an elwtric globe at Ngaio, was convicted and discharged, and his parents were ordered to pay 3s to make good the damage. Two other lads charged.with a similar offence, committed in Wellington, were also convicted, and the parents ordered to make good the damage, 3s. in each. case.
