Mr. H. A. Huggius, for some years Chief Accountant of the Post and Telegraph Department, and Controller of the Post Office Savings Bank, has been promoted to be Acting-Second Assistant Secretary, vice Major G. B. Dall, who has proceeded to England to tnkc charge.of Postal matters as far as the-New Zealand Expeditionary .Force is concerned. Mr. Hugqins succeeded Mr. L. Ledger in the position of Controller two years ago, and is known as an extremely capable and conscientious officer. He has done valuable work in connection with War Loan propaganda during the troubled period noiv past, and in other respects has moved his versatility and v tsource. Mr. Huggins has been succeeded-by Mr. F. .Tohnson, who becomes Ae'tiu.s-Aecomit-ant and Controller of the Post Office Savings Bank.

Mr. J. Sinclair-Thomson, formerly manager of the National Bank in Dunedin, is returning to New' Zealand by the steamer Oxfordshire. During the war, as a member of the New Zealand War Contingent Association, Mr. Sinclair-Thomson did a great deal of valuable work in England.
