Cap-■ i tain Munro and Mr. John . Baillie, and agreed that iihe celebrations, should ! be hold on the Sunday, Monday/and ! Tuesday after the date to bo fixed by the Imperial-Government''for >ho com- ; mencement. The ■committee's suggesh tion's have, already appeared in the ( Press. Special -services' in the 1 churches, oil Sunday morning and even- : a service: at tho. Basin Beseryo in '• the afternoon; and V united service in the Town Hall on Sunday evening wero J among the proposals. Monday's cele- • brations were to consist of - a monster procession from Government Buildines to. Newtown Park in the inorn- ' • ing, and a naval and military tournaj' -mmt aiTd feto to he .held in the afternoon at Newtown. The streets were to be decorated by .'tho building of . arches, ' Tuesday.would be purely a cinldren s , day, with celebrations organised and ' conducted ,hy the. school teachers.
