Mr. R. A. Holmes, who ..has beenthe Inspector of the Union Bank of' Australia in - New Zealand for someyears,- with headquarters in Wellington, will retire from the service, at the end of March, and will bo . succeeded by Jlr. -C. G. Ogilvie, at. present manager at Cthristcliurcli. The vacancy at Christchurch will be filled, by Mr. G. E. Mannering, manager of the Napier branch. •• •
Major D. J. Sweetzer, Camp ' Adjutant, has been appointed Camp Commandant, Trentham Camp, in succession to Colonel H. R. Potter, C.M.G., N.Z.S.C.
Mr. A. J. Rossiter, Receiver of Land Revenue and accountant in the Taraunki Lands and Survey Office, has received notice of promotion-to'the position of Chief Clerk and Receiver of Land Revenue, Hokitika, and leaves shortly to take up his new- duties. '.
After a lapse of. eleven months news has been received by Mrs. A. MoagLevy, of Wellington, that her only son," Roger, was drowned through the sinking of- an American transport :near the Azores, during the lirst week of February, 1918. The information was conveyed iii a letter received from Sir. Bell, secretary to the British Seamen's Union, New York. All hands', op the vessel were lost. The late Mr. .MoagL'evy was formerly an officer iu ,the service'of the Union Steam Shin .Company, and was very popular -with all who knew him. .... -
