CAPITATION FOR SCHOOL CLASSES
AMENDED REGULATIONS. •'
.Animportant amendment to the regulations for manual and technical instruction is gazetted. Following is the text of the new' regulation.:—"For the purposes of recognition, classes must be instructed by teachers employed by a. controlling authority or the managers of a technical school, and must bo conducted on premises belonging to or under the control of the Government, or of a local authority, or, in the case of classes for swimming and life-saving, on premises open to public use."
This moans that after this dato no capitation shall he payable in respect of classes conducted in private schools, including thnso maintaiiie/1 by loliiiious bodies, and that swimming and lifesaving classes to earn enpHatioi!. most not bo held in the school swimming baths, in those • schools which arc so fortunate as to possess thorn.
