It is notified in the Gazette that the Public Service regulations have been amended to make pr.ovisiun for the payment of overtime rates to employees 'during the months of January and .February, .in cases where the Commissioner is .satisfied that owing to .special ! circumstances the worjung of overtime is necessary. Following are the rates. of overtime pay.prescribed:— . . .. Per hour. • ' V 6.d. Officers receiving a salary of £165 per annum and under 1 6 . Offieer.B receiving ,a 'salary of over £165 per annum and not exceeding £200 per annum ......^.■.................; 1 9 . Officers receiving a salary of £200 per .annum .and not .ex- • . ■ceedjb% £230 r*r annum... 2.0 ! Officers receiving a salary of £230 p.er annum and not exceeding.£3oo per annum ... 2 6 Overtime is to 'be calculated to the nearest Quarter of an, hour, aiid any time worked in any .one day by any officer in excess of seven- hours is to be counted as overtime. The provision is to be , applicable to temporary employees.
