Tho "Staffordshire Sentinel," dated October 25, 1918, records the death in (lotion on October 14, of Captain A.' L Johnson, of the North Staffordshire Kegimont. ' The late Captain Johnson, who was 27 years old, was the son of the late Mr. R. L. , Johnson and of Mrs. Johnson, of-Henshall Hall, Congleton, and was educated afc ■Rugby School. Ho was the youngest member of the firm of Messrs. Alfred Mcakin, Ltd., Titlistall. Ho joined tho Army at the commencement of the war, when the whole of the North Stafford's Rugby fifteen, of which he was a member, answered the country's call. Six months after his enlistment he was Riven a commission. Ho was wouuded in the Battle of Loos 'on October 13, 1915. He was quickly promoted full lieutenant, and recpived his captaincy, and was given command of a company niiio months ago.
