, FARMERS OFFER HELP.,; Two generous offers of assistance from farmers' bodies in the Auckland district to soldier settlers havu been convoyed to the Minister of Lands, the Hon. D.i H. Guthrie. .;. ' :
A co-operative dairy company, the Oruru-Fairbum, near Mangonui, has offered, to pay. an extra .penuy per pound of butter-fat to every, soldier settler.' taking up new blocks of land at Fern Flat and Paranui, the offer to remain open for fivd years, for which time payment is to be continued at.this extra rate over the current price paid to ordinary, suppliers. The otiieroffer comes from the Auckland Provincial Farmers' Union. ■ The executive of-this body declares that it is roost anxious to help returned soldiers to get on the land,' and that 1 ' for this purpose jt will place the organisation of tho union at' the disposal of the Government.
