MONEY MARKET. The Bank of England discount rate-on January 12, 1917, was 5J per cent. On April 5 it was reduced to 5 per cent., at which figuro it has sinco stood. OPEN MARKET RATES. Tho discount rate for three months' bills is 3} per cent., as compared with 31 per cent, last -week, and 4 per cent, last year. Short loans are quoted at 3S per cent., ns against 3J per cent. last week, and 4J per cent, last year. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. P'ltter.—Unchanged. Cheese.—Scarce, pending New Zoaland arrivals.
