ENEMY ALIENS IN BRITAIN
GROUNDS OF EXEMPTION FROM
INTERNMENT.
London, January 16.
The Homo Office has issued a memorandum showing the grounds upon which enemy aliens were exempted from internment and repatriation. They include long residence in the United Kingdom, and having a British-born wife and children. Aliens were also exempt if a son. or grandson was serving in the army. Women were exempted by Ipng residence in Britain, oy proof that they had no connection in Germany, or by incapacity owing to old ago or ill-health.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
