MR. JACK JOEL'S GREAT INVESTMENTS. By Telegrapli-Press Association. London, January In. Sir. Jack Joel's theatrical activities are creating widespread interest m Lyndon. It is understood that he ie behind Ulr. Alfred Butt. He Jias already a greater or smaller interest in s:x west End theatres, and recently provided the money to purchase a seventh vath a view to rebuilding it, and will aiso erect an entirely new theatre. It is believed that the last two ventures involve an outlay o£ two millions. It seems certain that he can acquire Drury Lauo if he cares, to as ho is already one of the largest shareholders. It is estimated that Mr. Joels investments in London theatres amount to about five millions, and they are constantly appreciating with the current of the- great theatrical boom.. He recently acquired a largo holding in a leading catering firm, probably with a view to controlling the Criterion restaurant, the leading resort of theatre-goers.—'Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
