The Ministry of Reconstruction pub'lishee the report of the Committee on Financial Risks, which was appointed owing to Manufacturers and traders fearing that losses due to tho fall of prices. of raw material bought at wartime . prices might hinder production on a full scale.' The committee recommends,, alternatively, a reduction ■ of the excess profits duty to 65 pur cent, for 1918, or deferring" the payment of part of that duty for flvo years.—Aus.N.Z.
