The New Zealand Loan arid Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: .At Palmerston 1 North sale on Thursday we had a moderate entry of both sheep and cattle, prices were on par with..recent sales. Quotations:—Good mixed 2-tooths, 255. 9d.; cull 2-tooth wethers, 195.. 3d.; cull lambs, Bs.; B.F. lambs, 145.; light-fat owes, 245. 3d.; yearling heifers, 3'/s. 6d. to £3 55.; and calves, £3 15b. to £9 3s. 6d.; ■ potter bulte, £6, £7 155., to £16. . Messrs. Wright, and Co., Ltd., report having held a highly successful sal© in the Masierton yards on Wednesday. when they offered a good entry of sheep and a heavy yarding of. cattle. There was a large attendance of buyers, and'the sale was animated'throughout, a. total clearance being effected, with the exception of, a small pen of heifers. A line of 300 fat ewes, offered on behalf of Mr. T. Cooper, fetched 25b.-3d.; SCO 4 and 6-vear ewes, 21b. 6d. to 235.; 250 m.s. 2tooth, 245. {2d.; toull '2-tooth ewes,, 15s. 6d.; b.f.m.s. 2-tooths 21s. The cattle yarded - were :of ' exceptional quality, aud elicited keen competition. A pen 1 of 60 very good fat and forward bullocks. offered on behalf of the estate of the late" J. M'Rae, realised £17 18s. Other sales included 67 2-year P.A. steers, on account of Mr. S. Dalgety and Co., .Ltd., report on their fortnightly sale ; at . Wanganui:— A small yarding»of sheep.and cattle was submitted to a good attendance of buyers. Competition for sheep was slack, and »tlio bulk of the yarding was .passed. Competition for 18-month to 2.\-year heifers -was fairly good, but the older sorts wero inclined to be neglected.'
