A general, meeting 1 • of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club was held on Wednesday night. A motion by Sir. Beaumont that skippers bo nominated at the time of the entry of the yachts failed for ivant of a seconder. Two new members wero elected.

A committee meeting was held after the general meeting, and it was decided that letters of thanks bo sent to several firms who have donated • trophies for the races on Anniversnry liay. The prizes for Anniversary Day were allotted. ■ .It was arranged that in case it was found impossible to lay tho Somes Bock buoy before Anniversary Day that tho points races in tho morning take nlace round a course from Clyde Quay to the Jerningham buoy thence to the Koro Koro buoy and.back to Clyde Quay via JerJiingham buoy. In view of tho public interest which is being taken in the races the .general handicap in the afternoon is being held round a short course as follows:—From Clyde Quay Wharf to Jerningham buoy thence to tho CoromiSalcl buoy back to a mark boat at Clyde Quay.' This second part of tho course will bo sailed twice and at tho finish yachts will sail from Clyde Quay Wharf to the Jerningham buoy and back again over the usual finishing line. This will give the public on the wharves and along Oriental Bay a,n excellent view of the races.
