STILL UNPAID
A SOLDIER'S FINANCIAL . ASSISTANCE. Mention'was made last week of the case of a married soldier who went into camp in September/ received liis discharge iii December, ' and learned later that the Financial Assistance uoard had made no payments on account of his rent or insurance during his absence in camp. The board had undertaker, to make payments amount ins to 15s- a week. The landlord had written to the hoard'twice, but had not received any reply at all ' A Dominion reporter who made some inquiries on the subject yesterday ascertained that the payments had not yet hcen made. He was informed by an officer of the Financial Assistance Branch that the grant was in. order, and that the soldier had done everything required of him. Other questions elicited the information that a rcmly had been sent to the landlord. The officer did nit see his way to explain the delay 'thatliad taken place in paying over the monev.
