A useful industry lias been established in Eltham (says an exchange). It is the conversion of lambs' stomachs (veils) into rennet., The stomachs are received from tho Patea freezing works. They aro blown up like bladders, tied up at both cm I*,1 *, and then hung up on wire to dry. It is contended that Now Zoaland sends away £75,000 per annum for calves' rennet—aixl that, this money can 'bo retained within tho Dominion by usins; tabs' stomachs. About 1,500,000 stomachs would be, it is estimated, sufficient for tho Dominion's requirements, and .as thero aro between five and six million lambs slaughtered annually, it will be seen that thorp is no likelihood of any deficiency in supplies.
