The Feilding Agricuiltnrnl and Pastoral Show is advertised to. take place on February 1 and 5, and amongst oilier attractive events will be found sheep-dog trials, jumping competitions (one for Maoris or half-jcastes), and tho visual ring events. All classes ot stock have been allotted liberal prize-money and handsome trophies, and ladies will bo interested to know that there :s a six-guinea trophy to be won outright for the most points in cookery classes. Entries close on January 17. Schedules may be obtained on application to tho secretary. Tho annual West Coast ram fair will ho held at Feilding on February 6 and 7, the two days following the show. Breeders can nominate the firm of auctioneers by whom they wish their stock sold. Tho sum of JC3G8,030 was handed to tho French Ambassador as Britain's contribution to France's Day. In accepting tho gift, which was double the amount collected tho previous year, Hons.
