ORINGI STUD LINCOLN'S
The sale of the wliolo of Mr. W. H. Gaisford's stud Lincoln flock, together with his animal crop of flock rams, at Oringi oil Wednesday next, is an event of more than usual interest to farmers. Tho Gr.isford Estate has been associated with Lincoln breeding for some 40 years, and tho flock is known throughout $o Dominion. Stud rams and owes from' Oringi have time and again been successful in tho show pens. In New' Zealand tho Lincoln blood is in many of tho cross bred flocks, and it is prominent in the composition of tho new Corriedale breed. Tho Lincoln ram—fine-headed ones aro selected on account of tho animal's preponderating size—is used largely for crossing with merino ewes, and the LincolnItomney cross of the North Island is well known. . The Lincoln is a most Valuable sheep on account of its great wool production, tho ' coarseness of which is more than made good by weight of fleece, length of staple and lustre. Tho salo will commence at 11 a.m. on Wednesday. Tho auctioneers, Messrs. Williams and Kettle, announce that a car will meet morning traius at Maharahara.
