ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
MAN FOUND HANGING ' SUSPENDED BY A WIRE ROPE The body of a married wan named George Adams, 44 years of age, who ■ resided at 124 Daniel Street, was found hanging in the bakehouse of the Automatic Bakeries, Tarauaki Street, at 10 o'clock yesterday morning. The discovery was made by Walter Browne, ail n;iiployec, when he opened / up the bakehouse. Adams was engaged at the Automatic Bakeries as a iiroman. Attached to his neck'was a wire rope, which was. suspended from a rafter in the ceiling. • It is not known whether deceased meditated committing suicide, but a note addressed to. his wife ,ivus found on a table in tho bakehouse. The note read as follows: "To My Dear Wife,—l cannot face you again. Kiss the children for nie." • , , , • . Deceased's body was removed to tho morgue by Constable Gunn, of the Mpunt Cook policc, and an inquest will be held. Adams leaves two children. YOUTH SHOT IN THE BACK. A youth named Stanley Godfrey, 19 years of who lives at 71 Ilawker Street, met .with a serious acident while out shooting near Plimmerton yesterday afternoon. Godfrey was accompanied by his brother, and a friend. It appears thai about " 4 o'clock he had . a couple of shots at some rabbits,' but Losing them, he handed his gun to his mate in order that the latter might make an attempt. Just as he passed the weapon over the trigger caught on_somcthing, with theresult that lie received the charge in his back. • Fortunately, Jlr. J£. Berman, of 28 Buller Street, Wellington, happened to be passing in his motqr-car at the time, and he immediately conveyed Godfrey to Porirua, whe're he received medical attention. /Subsequently an ■ambulance was sent out from the city, and the sufferer was admitted to the Wellington Hospital about midnight. His condition is serious. Godfrey is employed by the Te Aro Furnishing Company. CHINESE CYCLIST INJURED.

Street-, ivas riding a bicycle down Thompson Street about half-past 4 yesterday afternoon, when he lost control of the machine and', crashed into a' fenco 'in Webb Street, which crosses'at the. foot of. Thompson Street. Dr. M'Kv-edy was suninionea and found that You Ku was suffering from concussion. After giving him attention Dr. ■ Sl'Evedy ordered his r.emoval to the hospital. :

Sydney Patterson, a married man, 34 years of age, and a native of Tasmania, was drowned last night • xvliile crossing on horseback a. flooded river at Nile St. Charleston. Ho was accompanied ljv William Woodhead, who was also on horseback and was carried some distance down the river before making a safe landing.
