veterans; race. j Old-timo yachting enthusiasts answered the call of the sea on Saturday afternoon when the veterans' race was decided under the auspices of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club. During the race the 'bob stay carried away, and this compelled the yacht's skipper to withdraw from the contest. The Auckland yacht Marangi, with a handicap of Wo minutes, and sailotl by the port harbourmaster, Captain Dawson, tlio raco. She ivtis oxceedingly well handled throughout 1 th" ; race, and took the lead from the Rawene, sailed by 3fr. R.. C.'Renner about a mile from the finishing linn.
