Tho Director of the Horticulture Division of the Department of ■ Agriculture has received from (he apiary instructors tho following report concerning the honey crop prospects:— Auckland.—The climatic conditions have, not been favourable to cither the secretion of nectar by the clover or tho gathering in by the bees, cold nights, having been the rule during tho past month. "Unless the season is somowh'at later thaa usual the crops generally, will bo below the average. Beeswax is quoted at from 2s. to 2s. 3d. per lb. AVellington.—The climntic conditions have been rather unfavourable' for apiculturiste. However, there is still time fop a good crop to bs gathered should an improvemont be forthcoming. Tho balance of last season's crop has ceased to come into the grading store for export, and will be ■■used for locnl consumption, but it is anticipated that a number of ne\r lines of this season's output will be forward .shortly. Thero is n demand for beeswax at 2s. Gd. per lb. Honey in pats rind pound sections is not procurable.' Dunedin.r-Tlio prospects of a good season have greatly improved. In tho northern districte indications point to a good crop. Advices to hand from Canterbury indicate assured payable returns. Extracting is in progress. In Otago and Southland the weather conditions have not been so favourable. However, it is stilt early to forecast this season's returns. ■ There is still time, to' secure t>. good crop if climatic conditions uro favourable. Generally clover is in good •heart, more especially in ■• Canterbury, where there line been a phenomenu) growth. Prices are firm.
