DITIONS., ; At' a fully-attended meeting of the Greymouth branch of the New Zealand Locomotive Engineers', Firemen, and Cleaners' Association,, the following reso lutioii was carried:—"That this branch deplores the taken by the Minister'of Railways.in refusing to bring tha Ifew Zealand locomotive-men into line with the Australian locomotive men in regard to rates of pay and working conditions, and.also his absolute refusal to allow the locomotive men tho use of the Conciliation and Arbitration Act to deal with their claims. This branch also regrets that the' Prime Miniser has not deigned to reply to the executive's request for some independent person to arbitrate iu the dispute with the Minister, especially the request for the Conciliation Commissioner's services. There; fore,, this branch urges the executive council to use the only means left them for redress, and to parley no further with the Minister end Prime Minister. This branch endorses the action of the executive council in calling the grand council together. This branch givw their delegate to the special conference full power to act in whatever direction he decides in order to give our claims for increased .wages and reduced night work or pay at overtime rates, etc., proper- attention. The branch pledges itself to etand loyally, by ita delegate. This branch congratulates the Post- and Telegraph, teachers, and public services on their claims receiving favourable consideration during the last session of ''Parliament by Liberal Ministers of the National Cabinet, legislation being introduced to give" full - effect to their recommendations."—"Grey River Argus."
