A PENDING APPOINTMENT.. (Rec. January 7, 5.5 p.m.) London, January G. Mr. W. M. Hughes, Federal Prime Minister, and Sir Joseph Cook, Minis-, ter for tho Australian Navy, expect to go ito Paris on Friday. Sir Joseph Cook hopes tu select the first naval member for the Navy Board within a few days. Hitherto the matter has been delayed owing to war conditions limiting the seleotion. With tho approach of demobilisation there is a better chance of securing a hrst-clnss man.—Aub.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
