POSTHUMOUS AWARD OF THE ALBERT MEDAL. London, January i. The Albeit Medal, has been awarded to the late Arthur Ainbury, of New Plymouth, for attempting to save a mountaineer on Mount Egmont while the Intoi' was falling on an ice-slope at a terrific pace. Mr. Ambury tried to arrest his descent, at the loss of his own life. Tho accident occurred on June 3 last, at what is known as Humphries' Castle. Mr. Ambuiry, a married man withf,our children, Mr. William E. Gourlay,' of the Lands Department, New Plymouth, aged 20 (son of Mr. E. Gourlay, a linotype operator' on the Christchurch "Press"), and Mr. M'Donald, were mountaineering Messrs. Ambury and Gourlay lost their lives by falling over a cliff, and Mr. M'Donald wae injured.
